Tour Details

Serengeti Wildebeests Migration is a display of natural wonders with over two million wildebeests, zebras, and antelope traveling over 450 miles across the plain to ensure their survival, unaware that there’s danger presented by the stalking lions and cheetahs among other predators of the wildlife. Witness huge crocodiles of the Mara River as they wait for the herbivorous to cross the swollen Mara river and enter into Masai Mara Game Reserve from Serengeti National Park

What to Expect

Witness the most amazing wildlife spectacle in Africa at the Mara River. The Mara River is most famous for the legendary wildebeest crossing, a dramatic event, which is featured in countless wildlife documentaries. One of Tanzania’s best kept secrets is the fact that nearly half of the Mara River is situated in the North Serengeti versus the Masai Mara’s segment in Kenya. While there are hordes of vehicles just a few miles upriver in the Masai Mara, the Serengeti side is virtually devoid of tourists. You can witness thousands of wildebeest battling their way through the waters and trying to avoid the crocodiles. Hundreds of thousands of animals- joined by many zebra, and a scattering of Thomson’s and Grant’s gazelles.

  • Great Wildebeest Migration crossing the Mara River
  • Nile crocodiles (the largest in the world)
  • Elands, elephants & the rare black rhino
  • Hippo viewpoint at the river oxbow
  • Lion Prides of the Serengeti
