Walking Safaris are for those who love the world outdoor and would enjoy the experience of trekking.
Our more popular trekking destinations are: Lake manyara, Mt. Kilimanjaro, Mt. Meru, Arusha National Park, Lake Eyasi, Olmoti Crater, Empakaai Crater and Lake Natron where a variety of flora and fauna and beautiful scenery as well as different tribes can be visited.
These can be incorporated into a regular safari, giving a break from the long hours of driving on those ever bumpy roads. We have no specific programs for these; we provide tailor-made schedules.
Arusha Park Walking Tour
Arusha National Park is one of the few parks in Tanzania where you can take a walking safari. Accompanied by an armed ranger for your protection, you will take a leisurely stroll to find animals such as buffalo, giraffe, elephant, antelope, baboon and various bird species. After a half-hour walk, you reach the waterfall which makes for a refreshing shower
Lake Manyara Walking Safari
Lake Manyara is a lovely scenic park on the road from Arusha to the Ngorongoro Crater, famous for its tree climbing lions, good elephants and baboons. The lake itself takes up much of the park, leaving a strip of land running along its shores where game concentrates.
If you prefer big game orientated walking safaris you can enjoy a two hour walk from Maramboi Tented Camp (on the Western shores of Lake Manyara) facing the Great Rift Wall. This walk is recommended for the late afternoon so you can see the stunning views of the sun setting over the Rift Wall and Lake Manyara. The walk is suitable for all ages and covers flat ground walking across the Lake Manyara flood plains. These plains host abundant grazing animals such as: wildebeest, zebra and giraffe. This is a unique opportunity to walk between large African mammals.
Walking safari in Ngorongoro, Empakai, Odonyo Lengai and Lake Natron are involves local people where they organize and run small tourism projects. Empakaai is about 6000m wide and 300m high can only be reached on foot and is about a 3-4 hours walk to the rim. From the rim you could walk to an appealing waterfall where the Munge River leaves the Olmoti crater. Water collecting in the crater flows down the falls and eventually runs into Lake Magadi in Ngorongoro Crater. Among other animals, you will see buffalo, bushbuck, a variety of antelope and blue monkeys. Birds are in abundance. A deep soda lake covers a large part of the crater floor. There is a track to the crater-floor and one around the rim of the crater. On a nice, clear day, one can see Mt. Oldonyo Lengai, Lake Natron and Mt. Kilimanjaro. The scenery is left to your imagination.

Unforgetable Migration Safari experience
Me and my girlfriend booked a very last minute private migration safari with East Safaris. Emanuel was extremely helpful from the outset, providing a customized itinerary on short notice and allowing us to pay via a bank transfer.
The camps booked by East Safaris were absolutely stunning, excellent food and service, and very reasonably priced compared to all the other quotes we received.
The safari itself was everything we had hoped for. We spent 4 night in Serengeti following the migration in north Serengeti, we where verry luck to see all the actions between predators(lion) and wildebeest, mara river crossing was extremely unforgetable experience to watch.
Our driver Fadhil was a total gem. Very friendly, happy to adjust the itinerary to whatever times.
If booking safari with East Safaris I highly recommend requesting Fadhil.
Thanks again to Emanuel and his team for unforgetable first Safari experience!
We will come bak again.
The hospitality was amazing ,we hard best service ever and the best tour
Me and my family had the most amazing safari experience. Emanuel Planned everything for us, very easy to communicate itwith him, and open for suggestions. Our guides Fadhili were experts on everything from the animals, to the roads, to the driving, to the people (Masai Cultural trip). We consider ourselves extremely lucky to have had their experience in choosing the parks we visited and the timing of the excursions each day, we literally saw thousands of animals! all Big 5 Animals. We were so close to a lion sleeping in a tree that we could have reached out of the truck and pulled his tail! I highly recommend this "7 Day Tanzania safari experience" safari which covers Tarangire park, Serengeti park, Ngorongoro Crater, and Lake Manyara park. Thank you so much Emanuel and your team, you're the best.
Very satisfying arrangements and perfect service!
We have just ended our wonderful holidays in Tanzania, all arranged by East Safaris!
We (my son, my daughter and I) went on a 6 days track to mt. Kilimanjaro and afterwards 3 days of safari at Tarangire, Ngorongoro crater and lake Manyara! We have been very satisfied with the service and arrangements made, and Emanuel and his staff took very very good care of us! We will highly recommend East Safaris - they act in a professional way, they keep what’s promised and never let you down! Thank you for a wonderful experience! 🏆🏆🏆
