🦍Gorilla tracking. Golden Monkey Tracking
After arriving in Kigali, head straight to Volcanoes National Park – a stunning three-hour drive north through the country’s lush, green countryside. The scenery of Volcanoes National Park is incredible, with a spectacular array of volcanoes far in the distance.
You will stay overnight at a hotel of your choice. Spend the evening relaxing and preparing for gorilla tracking the following morning.
Gorilla tracking in Volcanoes National Park: Wake at sunrise and drive the short distance to the park headquarters where you will receive a briefing, porters and tea and coffee before the adventure in the forest begins. Local porters can be arranged and will help the guide complete the gorilla tracking.
Tracking can last anywhere from 90 minutes to the whole morning, depending on which family group is assigned. You will spend an hour with the gorillas – sometimes moving to stay with the gorillas or follow them. The guide will make sure you are in the best spots to take the most beautiful photos and properly experience the breathtaking experience.
You will then return to your hotel to freshen up and spend the evening preparing for the Golden Monkey Tracking the next morning.
Golden Monkey Tracking: Walks to observe the smaller and nimble monkeys are a fun and adventurous way to explore the forest. Native to the region because of their bright orange bodies, they are harder to find than the gorillas and these nimble monkeys are sure to keep you on your toes.
You will then return to the hotel to freshen up before heading back to Kigali in the afternoon.
